Guard

REALISTIC,
UNASSUMING AND PERMANENT
THIS
WORKS BECAUSE IT MOVES !
ENVIRONMENTALLY
SAFE, UNIVERSAL SOLUTION
|
If possible, install GatorGuard before the pests claim their home for the season. It's always easier to deter a pest before he claims permanent residence. Even if you install it late this season, never fear because next season you'll start earlier and have even more success. Put GatorGuard to work as soon as the ice melts (if you have ice) so the early birds meet him on their way north. GatorGuard will work late, well into the fall and winter but remove him before a deep freeze.
Plan on 3 to 4 GatorGuards per acre, although this varies depending on the pond shape and surrounding area. Remember, birds have to see him in order for him to be effective, so put several in different locations if visibility to an area is blocked by bushes, trees, houses or bends in the pond.
Unlike stationary owls and other deterrents to which birds quickly acclimate, GatorGuard moves all around the pond whichever way the wind or wave actions move him. This is the key to his effectiveness. Because he moves, sometimes he can get stranded in the bushes, so check on your GatorGuard every few days.
To keep your GatorGuard from roaming, take the threaded eyehook (enclosed) and screw it into the plastic receptacle on his underside. Then, attach your own anchor to the eyehook and locate him well offshore (adjust the length of line according to pond depth and how much latitude you want to allow him). It helps to move the anchor location periodically to create more of a sense of change so pests can't grow accustomed to him being centered at the same location.
Keep your GatorGuard clean
and sparkling. As water movement bounces the GatorGuard, his flashing eyes
attract the attention of those who have not yet met him.
